Bechtel took over the project site for Poland's first nuclear power plant at Lubiatowo-Kopalino in the Choczewo municipality, north of Gdańsk, in August 2026, with earthworks under way. Preparatory works are being delivered by Budimex, and the operator PEJ has said it aims to sign the main engineering, procurement and construction contract with the Westinghouse and Bechtel consortium.
