Need accommodation for a technical construction or data centre team in Rüsselsheim? Share your crew size dates and worksite requirements. We source long stay housing across Rüsselsheim Frankfurt and the wider Rhine Main region.
Rüsselsheim am Main is not yet a live data-centre construction site in the way Frankfurt or Hanau are, but it is becoming one of the Rhine-Main region's next candidate locations, and the largest visible construction job on the ground today is adjacent industrial-campus work rather than a hyperscale hall. In November 2023 the Belgian developer VGP bought over 700,000 sqm of former Opel land from Stellantis, and on 25 September 2025 broke ground on the grEEn-campus, a 114,000 sqm new global Opel and Stellantis Germany headquarters (offices, an R&D/design building, a 45,800 sqm car park) due for completion in the second half of 2027; the topping-out ceremony took place in early September 2026 per Automotive World. Separately, the city's own planning papers for the "Eselswiese" site (60 hectares, adjoining the Opel land) earmark roughly 10 hectares for a data centre, subject to finding an operator, according to the city's own Eselswiese FAQ and council documents; no operator or investment figure has been named there yet. Nine kilometres away in Groß-Gerau, Vantage Data Centers' planned 174 MW, EUR 2.5 billion "FRA5" facility was rejected by the town council in February 2026, per DCD, illustrating how contested and reversible sites are in this micro-region.
Rüsselsheim am Main itself has 65,627 residents (city figure, 31 December 2024, per the Stadt Rüsselsheim statistical report), with Groß-Gerau town at about 25,400-27,400 residents and Mainz at roughly 185,000, both within a 10-16 km drive. Frankfurt Airport is about 15 km / 19 minutes by car according to a local transfer operator, and Wiesbaden is about 19-21 km / 21 minutes by road per Rome2Rio, so crews can be based in any of these towns and reach the Opel/VGP site or the wider Rhine-Main construction corridor within half an hour. Hotel supply directly in Rüsselsheim is thin and budget-skewed: named properties include the Garner Hotel Rüsselsheim by IHG, DORMERO Hotel Rüsselsheim, B&B HOTEL Rüsselsheim and Aspire Frankfurt Airport (Trademark Collection by Wyndham), none of which are set up for long-stay crew blocks. For rotational trade teams, named local contractor-housing ("Monteurzimmer") operators with listings directly in Rüsselsheim include Monteur Base and EasyApartments24 (both via the Monteurzimmer.de marketplace), offering shared apartments of 4-6 persons with kitchens, for groups from a few people up to around 150.
Project crews need accommodation that works around mobilisation dates shift patterns and practical site access. We source suitable options for short rotations extended stays and changing team sizes.
The visible construction now is Opel/Stellantis's grEEn-campus (VGP-built, groundbreaking September 2025, completion H2 2027), which brings shell-and-core, MEP fit-out and R&D-building trades in successive waves rather than a single steady headcount. A separate 10-hectare data-centre plot is reserved nearby at Eselswiese but has no named operator or contractor yet, and the Groß-Gerau Vantage project was rejected in February 2026, so any crew booking here should assume phases can slip or sites can fall through.
Rüsselsheim itself has thin hotel stock, so most teams should widen the net to Groß-Gerau (about 11 km), Mainz (about 10-16 km) or Wiesbaden (about 19-21 km), all under 30 minutes' drive from the Opel/VGP site. Frankfurt Airport is about 15 km away, useful for crew changeovers and rotational fly-in/fly-out patterns.
Book apartments with a working kitchen and washing machine rather than hotel rooms once a stay runs past a week or two, since named local Monteurzimmer providers (Monteur Base, EasyApartments24) already offer this format with on-site parking and WiFi. Keep one point of contact per property for check-in, key handover and maintenance call-outs so a rotating crew does not lose time chasing a different landlord each week.
