Corporate Accommodation for Data Centre Construction Teams in
Zaragoza

Looking for long stay accommodation for a data centre project team in Zaragoza? Tell us your crew size dates and site requirements. We source suitable housing for civil MEP electrical mechanical and commissioning teams.

Zaragoza
is a major data centre location

Zaragoza itself, not just the wider Aragón region, is now a live multi-operator data-centre construction site. Amazon Web Services is building its largest single Aragón campus, known as CAR, on former scrubland next to the Empresarium industrial estate inside the Zaragoza municipal boundary, seven data halls plus two archive buildings on a 167,000 sqm plot, part of the EUR 15.7 billion AWS Aragón expansion announced in May 2024, with the Zaragoza (La Cartuja) plot detailed in the Inaga environmental authorisation. AWS also operates and is expanding existing campuses at El Burgo de Ebro (16 km) and Villanueva de Gállego (14 km), both already partly live. Separately, Microsoft parked an earlier PTR site in Zaragoza after spending EUR 51 million and pivoted to a new EUR 2.9 billion, 59-hectare campus next to Puerto Venecia inside the city, expected to create 1,000-2,000 direct construction jobs over a three-year build. Merlin Properties has also announced a EUR 1.225 billion, 144 MW campus at Botorrita in Zaragoza province, projecting around 5,000 construction jobs with completion targeted for 2029. Named contractors are not publicly disclosed on any of these sites.

Zaragoza city has 686,986 registered residents (INE, 1 January 2024), the fifth-largest city in Spain, so unlike remote industrial sites this is not a thin-supply market by default; the constraint is timing and concentration, not headcount. The AWS sites sit 13-16 km from the centre (El Burgo de Ebro 16 km/about 20 minutes, Villanueva de Gállego 14 km/about 11 minutes, the Empresarium/La Cartuja campus about 13 km), and the Microsoft Puerto Venecia site sits inside the ring road, so most crews can commute daily from the city rather than needing on-site camps. Hotel stock is not thin in the centre but corporate demand is already stacking up: local press has documented real estate agencies such as Urvex managing 8-10 property placements a week for workers on the nearby CATL battery gigafactory project, concentrated in Delicias, La Almozara and La Romareda, at market rents around EUR 350 per room per month. On the corporate-housing side, Apartamentos Loira markets purpose-built multi-room corporate flats in Zaragoza (6-bedroom units from EUR 195/day, laundry and cleaning included), and Vita Co-Living manages over 1,000 rooms citywide with a dedicated corporate/desplazados product.

Built for data centre construction and commissioning

We source accommodation around the needs of each project phase from civil works through electrical mechanical fit-out testing and commissioning.

Multiple campuses, staggered construction phases

AWS is running at least three Zaragoza-area sites simultaneously (Empresarium/La Cartuja, El Burgo de Ebro, Villanueva de Gállego), each at a different permit and build stage, while Microsoft and Merlin are starting separate campuses on different timelines. Crew numbers on any one site swing hard between civils, MEP fit-out and commissioning, so bookings need to flex month to month rather than assume a flat headcount.

Source from the city, not the site perimeter

Zaragoza city (687,000 residents) sits 13-16 km from the AWS sites and borders the Microsoft Puerto Venecia campus directly, so daily commuting from the centre is realistic rather than forcing on-site camps. We prioritise Delicias, La Almozara and areas near the Z-40 ring road for easy access to both the AWS cluster and Puerto Venecia.

Kitchens, laundry, parking and one contact

Crews on rotation want a working kitchen and weekly laundry rather than daily housekeeping, secure parking for vans and pickups, and reliable WiFi for reporting back to head office. We keep one point of contact per booking so invoices, extensions and swap-outs do not get lost between multiple landlords or hotel front desks.

Frequently asked questions

How do you source accommodation for Zaragoza data-centre crews?
+
We work with corporate housing operators already active in Zaragoza, such as Apartamentos Loira and Vita Co-Living, alongside a shortlist of business hotels, and pick based on which AWS or Microsoft site the crew is assigned to that phase. Because the sites are spread across the city (Puerto Venecia) and the eastern/northern edge (El Burgo de Ebro, Villanueva de Gállego, Empresarium), the right base depends on which campus and shift pattern applies. We confirm live rates before booking rather than relying on list prices.
Is Zaragoza's accommodation market actually under pressure from this construction?
+
Not in the way a small town would be. Zaragoza is a city of nearly 700,000 people with a broad hotel and rental base, but corporate demand is visibly rising, real estate agencies have reported managing 8-10 property placements a week for workers tied to the nearby CATL battery project, a comparable industrial build. Expect tightening around peak construction phases at any given site, not a blanket shortage.
Which data-centre sites near Zaragoza actually drive demand?
+
The main active construction fronts are the AWS campuses at El Burgo de Ebro, Villanueva de Gállego and the new Empresarium/La Cartuja site inside Zaragoza, plus Microsoft's Puerto Venecia campus and Merlin's Zaragoza-WIND project at Botorrita. These are separate operators and permits, not one programme, so timelines and crew sizes differ site by site and none of the public filings we reviewed name specific contractors.
Corporate housing or hotel for a project team in Zaragoza?
+
For stays beyond two or three weeks, corporate housing is materially cheaper and gives crews a kitchen and laundry, which matters for long rotations. For short mobilisation trips, inspection visits or when a crew size changes week to week, hotels are more flexible even at a higher nightly rate. We size the mix against the confirmed phase length before booking either.
