Google's Finnish campus sits in the Summa district of Hamina in Kymenlaakso, on a former paper mill site about 145 kilometres east of Helsinki. In May 2024 Google announced a further EUR 1 billion investment, taking cumulative investment in Hamina to EUR 4.5 billion. A seventh data hall has been under construction, an eighth received its environmental permit in October 2025 with no investment decision confirmed, and in May 2026 Google bought a further 50 hectares of adjacent land from the city. Google does not publish capacity or floor area for these phases.

The construction load is significant even without those figures. A Deloitte study cited by Business Finland put the 2024 expansion at roughly 1,900 direct construction jobs a year over two years, and Finnish reporting on the previous hall put peak site labour at 1,500 to 1,700. Hamina has about 19,000 residents, so crews spread across Kotka around 20 to 30 minutes away and Kouvola about an hour out. Finnish project accommodation providers already market dedicated stock for this campus, which is a fair signal of how quickly local supply fills.
