Lingen, Lower Saxony. RWE expects all 300 MW of the GET H2 Nukleus electrolyser to operate from 2027.

GET H2 Nukleus is RWE's renewable hydrogen electrolysis plant on the Emsland gas-fired power station site at Hanekenfähr in Lingen, Lower Saxony. It is built as three 100 MW units, 300 MW in total, producing up to 5.6 tonnes of hydrogen an hour at full load, and it carries €492m of federal and Lower Saxony funding. In August 2026 RWE reported first renewable hydrogen delivered to the Marl chemical park, 200 MW expected in commission by the end of 2026 and all 300 MW operating from 2027, while the third unit's electrolyser stacks were being delivered.

Lingen has around 56,500 residents and is named in Lower Saxony's July 2026 regulation listing municipalities with a strained housing market. The practical catchment runs to Meppen, about 20 km, Nordhorn, about 31 km, and Rheine, about 40 km. The site has a two-year modular village of 214 units for offices, training, welfare and changing areas, but no sleeping accommodation, so installation and commissioning crews rely on the local rental and hotel market.
