Working on the Sellafield site? Tell us your crew size, dates and shift pattern and we will source long-stay housing across Whitehaven, Egremont and Cleator Moor.

Sellafield, near Seascale on the Cumbrian coast, runs a long decommissioning and new build programme for Sellafield Ltd and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, delivered largely through the Programme and Project Partners arrangement. Two major plants are under construction. The SIXEP Continuity Plant was reported 75 percent complete in August 2026, with press pointing to operations in 2029 while its business case target is January 2031. The Store Retreatment Plant poured first concrete in February 2020, went weathertight in 2025 and is quoted for commissioning between 2027 and 2028. Business case values are about GBP 1,007 million at P50 for the first plant and GBP 706 million at P50 for the second, inside a wider GBP 4.6 billion, roughly fifteen year risk reduction framework.
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority planned GBP 4.124 billion of group spend for 2026 and 2027, so work packages keep arriving rather than tapering. Seascale next to the site has about 1,700 residents and local press has covered the pressure the commuter car park puts on the village. Whitehaven, with roughly 23,000 residents, is the nearest town and reporting in July 2025 said around 40 percent of its working age population is employed by Sellafield. Egremont and Cleator Moor are established bases for site workers, and a project level peak workforce figure is not published.
We source long-stay accommodation for teams with confirmed work at Sellafield, matched to your access route along the A595 rather than a postcode.
We assess practical locations across Whitehaven, Egremont and Cleator Moor based on your actual site access, commute, crew size, parking and accommodation standards rather than a generic city search.
We can source for specialist rotations, staggered arrivals, multi-month assignments and extensions as packages move through the programme, subject to live availability.
We look for accommodation with kitchens, laundry, reliable WiFi, parking and suitable bedroom configurations for sustained assignments.
