Start Campus has brought SIN01, the first facility at the SINES Data Campus, into operation. Its next building, SIN02, is described in Start Campus partner material as a 200 MW phase with construction commencing in 2026 and delivery expected in Q4 2027. The wider SINES Data Campus is planned to develop toward 1.2 GW across multiple buildings.
Moving from an operational first building to a new construction phase can bring changing teams across construction support, civil works, electrical and mechanical systems, high-voltage infrastructure, fit-out, testing and commissioning. Accommodation needs to reflect the current package, the team’s mobilisation dates, shift pattern, vehicles and the practical route to site.
SIN02 at a glance
Site: SINES Data Campus, ZILS industrial and logistics zone, Sines, about 90 km south of Lisbon (Start Campus).
Operator: Start Campus. Customers: Microsoft announced a $10 billion investment at the campus with Nscale in November 2025 (Start Campus). Contractors: the main building contractor has not been named publicly. Nergetus holds the EPC contract for the backup power plant (WIP Magazines).
Stage: SIN01 is live and full at 37.5 MW. SIN02 (200 MW) has been under construction since early 2026 and is due online in the second half of 2027. It is the second of six planned buildings (Capacity, ECO).
