The Tyrrhenian Link is Terna's HVDC connection between Sicily, Sardinia and the Italian mainland, with a reported cost of about €3.7bn for the whole project. Terna's original target was full operation in 2028 and no revised date has been published. Terna has not published a workforce figure, and the remaining work is equipment installation and commissioning, so demand centres on specialist HVDC crews based in Termini Imerese, Bagheria and Palermo.
