Mobilising for a project in the Fos-Berre zone? Tell us your crew size, dates and site access route and we will source long-stay housing around Fos-sur-Mer, Istres and Martigues, and further out in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence for longer assignments.
We arrange accommodation for contractors in Fos-sur-Mer on a project basis, priced for the length of the stay rather than a nightly rate.

The industrial port zone at Fos-sur-Mer, inside the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, is the focus of a wave of decarbonisation and reindustrialisation projects. French state planning documents published in July 2025 count around 30 projects in the Fos-Berre zone, roughly 10,000 jobs created by 2030 and a need for about 5,600 to 7,000 new homes. The Region Sud adopted a territorial investment plan of EUR 679.5 million in December 2025 covering transport, housing and hospital capacity.
One of the larger single schemes is GravitHy, a EUR 2.2 billion low carbon iron plant on a 75 hectare plot with a planned 2 million tonnes a year of direct reduced iron and an electrolyser of around 750 megawatts. Its land concession with the port was signed in July 2025 and it ordered its direct reduction plant in August 2026, but the final investment decision is expected in 2027 with construction from 2027 to 2029, so it is forward pipeline rather than live civils. Carbon's planned solar gigafactory on the same zone was scrapped in May 2026. Fos-sur-Mer has under 16,000 residents, so official planning already routes most new demand to Istres, Martigues and Salon-de-Provence.
Staying in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence or around the Étang de Berre. Fos-sur-Mer sits inside the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, roughly 50 km by road from central Marseille. When supply around Fos, Istres and Martigues runs short, we also look at Vitrolles, Marignane and Salon-de-Provence around the Étang de Berre, and at Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, where furnished long-stay stock is much deeper. These suit site managers and longer assignments best. The trade-off is drive time, so we check the commute to your gate and shift start before shortlisting anything further out.
Crews mobilising elsewhere in France: see our city guides for Lyon, Bordeaux and Paris.
We source long-stay accommodation for teams with confirmed work in the Fos-Berre zone, matched to your gate and shift pattern.
We assess practical locations across Fos-sur-Mer, Istres and Martigues based on your actual site access, commute, crew size, parking and accommodation standards rather than a generic city search.
We can source for specialist rotations, staggered arrivals, multi-month assignments and extensions as packages move through the programme, subject to live availability.
We look for accommodation with kitchens, laundry, reliable WiFi, parking and suitable bedroom configurations for sustained assignments.
